Everything was fine until I did a Microsoft update via the
web. Didn't complete and now can't start up.
Originally got the the photo background screen with no
start menu or task bars. Now, the screen is frozen on
start up at the blue/small Windows logo part. No keys
respond, Not Ctrl-Alt-Delete or anything. Have to shut
down and try to restart in safe mode, but all that does
(in any configuration) is remain black with the 4 "Safe
Modes in the corners. No keys respond again except
shutting down with some configuration of keys I
haven't figured out yet how I'm doing it. The mouse
works. I'm at a loss. Thanks for taking the time to try
and help. I'm still searching the knowledge database
for a possible solution, but it's not looking good.
Where can I go for help with this kind of issue? #

Sounds too good to be true, especially considering I
don't have any disks. The computer was a
hand-me-down and came with nothing. I will work on
getting my hands on a disk though. Thanks for your
help.

>Put in the blue XP disk. It will ask you if you want a
complete or
>repair installation. Click on the repair. That should fix
it.
