If I go to Tools>Options>Read>Fonts, there are Proportional and Fixed Width Fonts.

There are over 30 choices for the Proportional font but only 3 for the Fixed Width Font.

Can I add more fonts to the latter?

Advice appreciated.

Tried OE group without success.

Doesn't it just use what is installed in the system fonts? If you install
more fixed width wouldn't it use them? My OE only shows 2 fixed width fonts.
That is probably all I have.

Maybe you don't understand that fixed fonts are fixed and variable fonts are
variable and they can't be changed by just changing menu locations.

Dennis, many thanks for your reply.

Yes, I do understand that that fixed-width font characters each occupy the
same amount of horizontal space, opposed to the varying space of
proportional font characters.

I was hoping that there were more alternatives of the fixed-width font which
I could just incorporate into the appropriate file (location?).

Sorry, but I don't follow the gist of your first paragraph. I'm not too
clued up on this use of fonts.

If you have more advice, it would be appreciated.

Joe

Just install more fixed width fonts in Control Panel-Fonts
These links are old but you should get something out of them.
You will find IE and OE do not like all monospaced fonts, so don't
expect every one to appear.

Monospaced typefaces - http://www.fontmenu.com/site/monospaced.html
Monospaced-Anonymous -

Monospaced-Onuava -

Monospaced-Pragmata - http://www.fsd.it/fonts/pragma.htm
