This came with a VPR Matrix (Best Buy) 2020 computer, and
I was never provided any disc, just reboot software w/ a
watered down version of XP Home that when loaded, loads
as a FAT 32 file system, not the more stable NTSF (?)
system. It also has embedded in it 32 fatal errors that
all may cause system crashes. Inotherowrds, its a bad
copy of XP. Neither the manufacturer or Best Buy will
back up the product or provide me with a decent copy of
XP software. This also means I am not able to use XP in
its entirety as I need the disc to access some add'l
offerings from XP. Further, Best Buy pulled these
computers from their shelves and won't talk about them,
in part because they KNOW of these issues. I paid
legitimetly for this product and don't have a legit
version, just a poor copy. Will MS back this up and
provide me a copy? If not who? Because the performance I
have on my computer sucks, crashing several times a day
or per attempted usage. I often am unable to go more than
10 minutes w/o a system crash. I am also out over $250
for new memory sticks and battery as Best Buy twice mis-
diagnosed the problems and sent me on the way with
nothing. It took a Certified MS partner to diagnose and
locate these problems. The only remaining problem is the
bad XP software. I would think MS would be ****ed that
companies such as Best Buy are KNOWINGLY selling bad
versions of this software to the public, and w/o
providing the buyer a copy, which I thought was not
legal. Any ideas, solutions? Thanks to all who read and
respond. Much appreciated. JD
