Hi,
I have a small network strickly peer to peer, file & printer sharing, no
problem. Now I have one additional individual that want to share/access
printers on the network. The issue I want them to access printers but not
files or anyone else computer. Currently everyone is setup with the same work
group name accept for the one individual. How do I allow access to printers &
not files?
thanks

Disable Simple File Sharing...... everyone can still stay in the same
WorkGroup, but if you wish only same people to have access to the Printer,
you'll have to follow:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/winxppro/maintain/printershare.mspx
ie each person will have to have permissions individually set.

I may not have explained myself clearly. Let me try again.
Currently the network has 7 users on it who share file & printers - this is
good and I want this to continue. I have one new user #8, who I only want
this to use the printers. I do not want them to have access to any files on
any of the other 7 computers.
If I disable simple file sharing on #8, keep them in the same workgroup as
the other 7. Will #8 be able to access the printers but not any of the files
on the other 7 computer?
thanks
