I have been reading through and noticed others with similar issues, have
contacted a microsoft rep with my issue, but their instructions did not
really address the issue I was having. I have an M-Audio Delta 66 soundcard
with up-to-date drivers, up-to-date windows update, etc. On Win XP, SP2
using messenger 7.5, every time I try to run audio wizard, it will not let me
adjust the volume. Every time I try to manually move the volume slider up,
it automatically adjusts all the way back down--whether or not there's any
audio activity. I know that one of the controls in the audio wizard are
going to be frozen due to a manual override control done through my m-audio
delta config control panel, but this is not the issue i'm experiencing. I
used to be able to broadcast the exact audio my soundcard was putting out on
older versions of messenger without problem.

One further note, I am not sure why, but my java in IE seems to be screwy.
I have tried updating sun java, and it really doesn't want to let me update
it...or uninstall the old one, etc. It's just a big pain in the butt. I
have an up-to date MSN anti spyware, ad-aware, spybot Search & Destroy,
Norton Internet Security 2005, all of which automatically update. I am not
so much concerned with this issue at this time as the audio issue.

I am told that there's some way to manually override the auto-adjust
feature. On another note, if while I'm playing music/audio through soundcard
& trying to brodcast (not talking about connection issues here, even if they
don't accept or w/e), it starts out w/ levels all the way down. If I drag
the volume level next to the other person's disp. pic all the way up, I can
briefly hear the soundcard's audio, but it automatically adjusts all the way
back down to 0, and then I can't even hear my audio for the soundcard (even
if I was playing music, I have to switch source to something else & then back
before I can get audio again after stopping the audio conversation in
messenger. Any ideas?
