The Scannow option does nothing to solve this problem in
my case. I did the same thing. I was having many
problems after XP installed awhile. The WORST thing is
Internet Explorer is AWFUL after installing all of the
updates to XP HOME. I mean works fine without the
updates, terrible with and this is on more than one
occasion. Only way to get my IE working like clock work
is to do an inplace upgrade of XP and put system back to
pristine conditions.
This last time I did that, I was determined NOT to
download any updates to XP and now I am getting that
WINSTA message. I thought of the scannow option first
thing, and it did absolutely nothing to solve my problem.
