I am trying to add a printer to a notebook computer
running Windows XP Pro, using the "Add Standard TCP/IP
Printer Port" wizard. When I get to the panel which
requests the printer address, I enter the IP address of
the print server to which the printer is connected, and
the port name is automatically filled in. When I click
on "Next" I get the error message "Windows Explorer has
encountered an error and must close." The error details
say the error occurred in "msvcrt.dll." The wizard
terminates at this point.
The printer is an HP Laserjet
CANON MULTIPASS SOFTWARE is the cause. i also have a canon printer.
Solution:
-remove canon multipass software
-install TCP-IP printer port
Thanks,
