I am creating a movie, using sound from the video, and an MP3. When I create
the movie file as an AVI, the sound play back is choppy and out of sinc with
the movie. If I save the same movie as an WMV, there is no problem, but I
want to create a DVD and would like the larger AVI file.

You don't say which programme you are using, if it's movie maker it doesn't
like mp3 files, so change it to wav, wmv, wma if this doesn't work, try here

As it may be something else interfering with the pc when it is trying to do
this very hard work.
