Hi, Marc.

"Reboot" is something that most of us do at least daily, every time we shut
down and restart. Are you asking if you should reinstall WinXP? That
should not be necessary. It MIGHT help with your slowdown problem, but I
doubt it.

Since your computer came with WinXP Home already installed, you should ask
your vendor for instructions if you do want to reinstall. Unless the
manufacturer requires other procedures, use your original WinXP CD-ROM and
follow MS instructions for an in-place upgrade:
How to Perform an In-Place Upgrade (Reinstallation) of Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;en-us;q315341

As soon as you get back online, visit Windows Update to be sure you have all
Service Packs and other fixes - including the updated 811493 that Jupiter
Jones mentioned. The in-place upgrade should reinstall WinXP, but leave all
your installed applications and data in place.
