View Full Version : Backup on XP Home Edition

Hi,

I absolutely *need* to backup my XP Home Edition system.
How can I download, install and activate the backup
utility? My Edition came bundled with the box and I have
no access to the CD.

Should one assume Microsoft wanted home users never to
backup their systems?

Search for "NTBACKUP"
If the file is not found, contact the computer manufacturer.
If you must assume, assume the computer manufacturer determined you do
not need NTBACKUP and not Microsoft.

Thank you very much for your help and your reply, though
I had done that before posting. The file was not anywhere
in the system.

I have to disagree with you -XP Home Edition is for
the "home user", ie, he who may be careless of tech land
and possibly with a minimum set of computer literacy.
When your answer involves searching for files and/or
components that need to be installed, it tells me those
were options NOT meant to be used by default by them home
users in the first place.

Just a remark.

Cheers
