Epson Software

I am trying to install printer software for Epson CX5200.
Each time the computer hangs and program spoolsv.exe is hogging 98% of cpu
usage.
Have tried everything I can think of including reinstallation of WindowsXP.
I am using 2.6 Ghz processor with 1Gig of memory - so there should be enough
resources.
Any help, please?

Your resources are not the problem, but your printer is. DO NOT connect the
printer to your PC before installing the software. Install the software/CD
and
during the installation it will tell you when to connect the printer.
Uninstall & reinstall Printer

And in addition to Byte's suggestion, make sure you have the LATEST drivers
from www.epson.com

Thanks - but I have done all those things! - and more!
When printer icon appears and when I try to access Properties, I get a
message saying Cannot be Displayed!

Antivirus scan (with updated signatures), spyware scan (with updated
signatures), disk cleanup.... reboot...

Disconnect printer from PC and follow Bruce Sanderson's instructions to
blitz all printer drivers...

Reboot.....

Install drivers from Epson website and do not reconnect printer until
software tells you to do so.
