Hello:

I am new to this group and also trying to get a newly installed
Creative Modem Blaster setup for sending and receiving FAXes.
I am running a XPpro DELL computer.

I would like to learn abouut the XP FAXing capabilities. Please
provide reference info for me to read up on.

Is there a service available that I can request a short fax document
to be sent to myself as a test for FAX receiving?

Is there a testing service available to test my setup for sending a
FAX document ?

Thanks.

I don't know of any dedicated testing services, however, if you have a
friend with a Fax machine, it should be fairly easy to run tests. As for
reference info, these should help:

Thaks Hal. I will begin reading those references later this evening.
My daughter does not have a working FAX modem at this time. It is not
as easy to find a friend to help test as one might think !

The Creative Modem Blaster CD included a testing routine for the XP
drivers, and I did run that. However, I do not know the meaning of
the displayed results. I now do not recall any error message. I will
have to run that routine again after I find out more on those modem
codes.

When runing Word Perfect 12 and attempting to send a fax, I am shown a
message that tells me that the fax is being sent sucessfully.
However, when I lift the telephone handset, all that I hear is a dial
tone; no FAX tones at all.

Thanks again.

Hello, everyone.

My name is Kaydee and I, too am new to the group. I just got an IBM thinkpad
as a gift that came with Windows XP installed. I do not have the disc and my
laptop has a folder for the i386 driver, but the folder is empty. Can someone
PLEASE tell me if the drivers can be installed from a website? Or must I
obtain the disc?

You must have the disk or precopy from the OEM.
