does anyone know if there is a simple way of what im talking about. Dont really want to have to buy software

Depends on what video editing software you have. Basically a VOB is an
MPEG2 file.....

You can import a VOB to Roxio's Videowave, Nero's Recode, Cyberlink's
PowerDirector and Intervideo's WinDVD Creator.

You cannot import it into MovieMaker.
