I've been having **exactly** the same problem on my
machine (it has ceased to be a "computer" at this point).
Only difference is I'm running Win XP Pro (upgraded from
Win ME). I'm open to 'most any suggestion(s), including
cutting the top off the box and turning it into a planter.
