I tried to restore my XP system tonight using the system
resote function. To my surprise, I was not able to
restore my system using any restore points that I had
created or any system restore points going back 4 months.

Why can't I restore my system? Any suggestions??

Norman;
There may be corrupted data in system Restore.
If that is the cause your Restore Points are irreparably damaged.
Turn off/on System Restore to delete corrupted files:
Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore.
Click System Restore Settings on left side.
Check "Turn off System Restore", click OK, follow prompts and reboot.
This deletes all Restore Points including corruption.
Then go back and turn on system Restore and create a Restore Point.
