I have a friend's mother who got a trojan virus (trojan vundo). I cleaned
the virus and now she can not print from her HP Photosmart 2410 printer. I
have ran the scrubber and reinstall the printer. It will print from the HP
Toolbox; but any documents sent to the printer from the Windows Test page or
a windows applications like notepad just sit in the queue and it shows
printing. But it is not.
According to HP, this is a microsoft issue. Any ideas?

Just reinstalling the printer may not solve the problem. You'll need to
completely uninstall it first.

I did completely uninstall the printer using the hp removal scrubber from hp
and reinstalled per their instructions. As I said it will print from the hp
toolbox, it is only from Microsoft applications and the test page that it
sits in the queue showing it is printing but it does not.
Any more ideas?

A Repair Installation of XP.... or a complete format and reinstall of the
whole PC. It appears there are still traces of the trojan somewhere on the
PC.

In addition to Cari's comments......make sure your mother is running a
good anti-virus program. If she cannot afford one, try AVG, it is FREE.
AVG (Anti-virus) free for home PC
