Computer Freezes when playing videos

What are the file extensions of the videos you are trying to play.....?

Are they on the hard drive of your PC or online?

What format of video?
It's probably not compatible with the player, or no codec to play it is
installed.

In my case with a sony I simply had to disconnect one of the two cable going to my new monitor and it fixed the problem. Try it.

Well im using DivX and it came with the codecs, the videos are .mpeg and
..avi, but if i didnt have the codecs would it still freeze?

Thanks i fixed the problem, it was just that i hadnt installed SP2, but now i
did and it works fine
