I wanted to install an external HD of 80 GB to share files
between our wind 98 with fat 32 and wind XP Home edition
and I found this one has an NT File system. what are my
choices to be able to use it at both ends?
thank you

If you leave the drive as FAT32, you'll be able to access it from both
systems, with no problem. XP handles NTFS and FAT32. 98 will not read NTFS.

Make it FAT32 and your chances are 100%

Windows XP can simultaneously use any combination of NTFS, FAT32,
FAT16, and FAT12 without problems.

Sorry, you said "choices." I read it as "chances."

Why is my reading more accurate *after* I've inappropriately
replied than before.

But the answer is right, anyway. Make it FAT32.
