I read a tutorial that said, deleting the files in the
Prefetch folder would improve performance? Is that safe?
And what is the purpose of that folder?
Thanks

The Prefetch folder contains information for the optimal disk layout
of program files so they launch quicker. You may delete all those =
files,
but XP will rebuild that folder so that your computer runs as =
efficiently
as possible.
It is advisable not to delete prefetch files because your computer
will be sluggish for a few days. Deleting the files will not speed up =
XP....
it will do the opposite.
