View Full Version : Incremental backups that can track deleted files

October 21st 05, 06:42 PM
Hello,

I have a number of drives in my computer, and I have one drive that I
have decided to dedicate to backups. It has 200GB of space. I am
looking for a program that will allow me to do the following:

1. Perform automatic (scheduled) daily incremental backups of several
different folders and files on my computer (totalling about 150GB of
data).
2. Record a log of all files backed up and any issues that occured.
3. Will automatically remove files that have been deleted from the
backup file after a certain amount of time. EG. If file 'runme.exe' was

deleted on Monday, it would not be removed from the backup file until
Thursday.

Number 3 is the one I am having trouble with. I have found all sorts of

great programs that do number 1 and 2, but none that have the ability
to do number 3. Some of the programs I have found will remove files
from the backup that have been deleted, but they can only remove them
on the next backup, not give me a couple of incrementals before getting

rid of them completely.

Any advice/suggestions would be most appreciated!!
Thanks
