View Full Version : Disabling Outlook Message count on welcome screen for non-existent accounts

Outlook Express was not installed correctly on my new
machine, and subsequently when setting it up with
identities, it crashed and needed to be reinstalled. One
account when tested retrieved 88 messages, but the
account no longer exists.

Outlook Express is now functioning with multiple
identities but the original account was deleted because
it was not functioning at all.

Now on the XP Welcome screen, it shows 88 messages which
are not present (they were for the deleted account). It's
driving me nuts.

I changed the registry as per help files at
microsoft.com, but was only allowed to deny access for
the current accounts.

Anyone with any suggestions?
