I am having trouble with my sound. No wav sound comes from my speakers,
including all system sounds. MIDI works fine, as well as the hardware beeps.
When I reinstall the SoundMax sound driver, the sound works fine, but as
soon as I restart the computer the sound is nonfunctional again. What could
be the source of the problem?

I'm not sure if this is related, but a similar thing is happening with the
Quick Launch icons on my toolbar. Everytime I restart the computer, the
icons are gone and I have to go into the properties on my toolbar to reselect
"Show Quick Launch."

When you select "Show Quick Launch", did you select "Apply" then "OK" ?

Without knowing more.....try:

Save Settings on Exit (Line 54)

To use the Regedit: Save the REG File to your hard disk. Double click it
and answer yes to the import prompt. REG files can be viewed in Notepad by
right clicking on the file and selecting Edit.
