pls help
my system cant boot.it keeps saying 'insert boot disk in atapi cd rom
and press enter'.later on i found out that the bios is not detecting
the hard disk. i tried auto detect and manual but the problem still
persists.the bios detects the cdrom and floppy but not the hard disk.
pls wot is ur advice .

If the bios fails to detect hd, then either cables have become detached or
ide controler or hd has failed

pls how do i know if its the ide controller not the hard disk.how can i
trouble shoot it .pls help as alwaiz

You trouble shoot the problem by exchanging questionable parts for known
good parts. If you change the cable and it doesn't help, you now try the
hard drive. If you can't see a known good hard drive about the only thing
left is the bios or the motherboard.

I would suggest a good technician if you don't have a plethora of spare
parts hanging around your home.

You always start with the least expensive part and work your way up to the
most expensive.
