I was working on a friends of mine computer and his computer wasnt shutting
down so i held down the restart button till it did shut down. Then when i
started it back up it said that it did not reload windows properly and gave
me the options of starting windows normally going to the last known working
setup or the three different safe modes. I tried all of them and they take me
as far as the loading screen with the windows xp logo and the bar at the
bottom and they just restart me after that. i thought i had a .dll problem or
something and i tried to do the recovery console off of the cd and i cant
change directories on it. i would like to know if there is anything i can do
other than reformatting the computer so that they dont loose everything that
they have on their computer. if anyone has had this problem that would be
great if you could help.
