I can't get on the internet. My networks setting are working. I've
checked everything with my ISP and the connection is fine. I can ping
other sites. I've run AV and Anti-Spy software and all is clear. I
have all the latest XP updates. I'm thinking it's a problem with
Internet Explorer.

Microsoft wants to charge me $30 to check out the problem. Should I
pay it?

Check with your ISP, some ISP's require extra configurations to access
the internet. Check the connection settings in your interent explorer,
they might need to be modified.

I need more info, like who is your ISP and is it DSL or Cable? Are you
connected directly to the Cable or DSL modem, or do you share the
connection with others? Have you ever been connected to the internet
through other means (dialup aol access), isdn? Have you tried
downloading other browsers like firefox?

You can try checking your registry settings, it could be that some of
your registry settings are corrupted, one of the better registry
