Hi, first i want to thank anyone who's taking some of their time to read
this, and of course to anyone who responds.
Now my problem is:
I accidentally disabled some of the windows start up settings, using
msconfig, while i was disabling promgras like msn or other unessesary
programs that load up when windows starts. i've done this before without any
problem, but it seems that now i've touched something i shouldnt have. I
think it may have been on the "Services" section. Now windows wont start.
And i'd like to know, if anyone can help me, how to reset the boot
configuration into its default settings using the recovery console on the
windows xp cd. Since i've never used the recovery console before. If it's any
help, i'm running Windows XP with Service Pack 2. That should cover the whole
issuse, Again Thanks to anyone who reads this.

Have you tried Safe Mode or Safe Mode with command prompt or Last Know Good
Configuration? I would try "Last Known Good Configuration" first, Safe Mode
second, and Safe with command prompt last. There are variuos ways to edit
boot.ini. Although if you changed "Services", I'm not sure that will fix your
problem. I would definitely go for F8, "Last Known Good Configuration".

Joe, next time you startup Press F8 to get into a Menu. Select Safe
Mode and if XP boots Ok then you can get back
into msconfig and Enable all Services and Startup Entries. Just
configure the Startup Entries.
