XP thinks PC is a laptop

Yesterday my PC went into hibernation because (it said) battery power was
low. This is odd, since it doesn't run on a battery. It's plugged into an
APC 650 UPS, which is plugged into a wall outlet. Also, the power scheme
is set to Home/Office Desk, not Portable/Laptop.

When I look at the Power Options in Control Panel, I see the following
tabs: Power Schemes, Alarms, Power Meter, Advanced, Hibernate. (I think
these are the tabs you normally see for a laptop. My other PC has Power
Schemes, Advanced, Hibernate and UPS tabs.) It's especially odd that
there's no UPS tab, since it's plugged into a UPS and connected with a USB
cable.

Can anyone suggest a way to fix this? Thanks.

Basically, I've ended up unplugging the UPS USB cable. This works if you do
not want to use shutdown/standby/hibernate on pending power failure. Or,
you might have followed the instructions more closely when you installed the
UPS.

I'll dig out the instructions and see what I did wrong. (I installed it a
while ago and only recently noticed the problem.) Thanks for the help.
