Hello, Have Windows XP Home SP2 with all security and critical updates.
I have downloaded the security and critical .exe files for backup. Made a
hardcopy list of all MS updates for this unit.
Is there a way to find which updates need the unit to be rebooted after
install?
Do I need to install Windows Installer kb893803 v2-x86 first?
Thank you for your time and knowledge.
Take Care.

No. This often depends on the particular system and the files being
currently in use.

Not necessarily since these patches use the "Update.exe" engine rather
than the Windows Installer. However, there are other updates around
(ie. Office 2003 Service Pack 2) that require Windows Installer 3.1.
