When my PC boots up it now has the Invalid Boot.ini file,Reebooting from
C:\Windows post.It all stated when PC started Going bak to windows, and then
reebooting for no apparent reason, while in or loading a programme.this
happened several times and on the scandisc each time it reebooted,it went
through many "Crosslinking by copying Truncated Allocation units" and
"Orphan Truncating" and similar pages Quit a lot infact"before reaching a
more stable state and the reeboots diminished,I'm talking about every 10
minutes or more}.I then ran Panda Antivirus and after it finished .finding
nothing.I noticed a 25 Gigabyte file in my documents called "MYBEG 1",or
something like which had Accrylic Computer writing in it.It was impossible to
delet but subsequent scandiscs removed it.Also it couldn't have been real
because I only had about 4Gigs of HD space free.THe PC seems stamle again now
but I had to reinstall all most of my Programmmes to actually use them
again. What I want to know is ,Was thid a Worm.Virus or somesuch[I can find no
mention of a MYBEG file in the database,or was it a Hardware failure such as
Failing Hard Drive or something,And do I have to take any action to change
the INvali Boot, ini message at Bootup?I have latest updates MS Antivirus has
found no malisciose things on my PC,although I only have SP 1 on my XP
Pro.Everything seems OK now but the same thing may reoccur if its a virus.I
would be pleased if anybody can suggast what happened, apart from the "Yuor PG
has just recovered from a fatal error"message which I have seen too often
last few days .THanks for any help Col.

What OS are you on? You mention scandisc but that doesn't exist in XP.
It would be much easier to read your post if you used spaces between
sentences and broke it up into short paragraphs. As is, it look like a
screen of consciousness mind dump.

I am using XP PRO updated over a Win 98 SE .I thought this would have been
apparent because The Post was made in the WIN XP Section. As regards the
appearance of the message, when I see it in the post It is all over the place
with <>these symbols between sentences and yet as I type this it has all the
punctuations and spacing as if I am writing a letter on paper. Why is this
so,I have noticed this before in e-mails but the correct copy is usually
there aswell?I would still like any info on whether this was a virus or
not, because although it has been stable since it happened I am still thinking
of trying to "rebuild Boot.ini file "as there is no such file in existence
now it has dissapeared completely.Col.
