811493: Security Update (Windows XP)

I have successfully downloaded and installed the 811493:
Security Update (Windows XP)file via Windows Update on 3
occasions, and yet each time I re-visit the same file is
still listed as a Critical Update needed by my computer
(running XP Professional). As a precaution I always re-
start my computer after such downloads, whether or not
the system requires it. Does anyone else have the same
issue..??

Bruce, I been dealing with this for weeks and I just resolved it. For me I
had a modified boot screen. Uninstall Q811493, ntoskrnl.exe in
C:\windows\system32 had to be put back to orginal and reinstalled the
update for the final time. No more notfication for Q811493.
