Sometimes a window appears on the screen containing an option to reboot the
computer or not. How important is it to reboot the computer?

Absolutely imperative after updating some things or installing new hardware
and drivers.. sometimes necessary to just purge the system and start
afresh.. unavoidable after some crashes..

The big question here is why your system is rebooting or requesting a reboot.
Do you know why?

It sounds like the user may have automatic updates turned on with SP2. It is
my experience that following application of many of the critical updates, you
will be prompted to restart. If you do not do so immediately, then you will
occasionally get "nag" popup window that prompts you to do so.

That is what it sounded like to me as well. But, he said an option to
reboot, it could be anything virus, hardcore spyware etc.. I wasn't trying to
be a wiseguy but I didn't want to say reboot when it may have been malicious
software.
