When I start built-in defragmentation program on c: (80Gb,
34% free) it freezes after some time. When I click
anything (for example: start/shutdown (turn off) the
computer (P4 2.4GHz) freezes. I can move the mouse but
keys don't respond. Also if I try to power the system off
via the power button (which supports software shutdown)
nothing happens. I pressed the RESET button and my graphic
card broke - I had it replaced).

Any ideas? Defragmenter says that there must be at least
15% free space on a drive and I have 34% free. Also I have
lots of files (few thousands)

Thx

See if you can defrag in Safe Mode.
