hi there
when you plug-in a new usb device (lets say a craddle for a Pocket pc)
Windows is installing the drivers (or from cd drive) if you, re-plug the same
device later in a different usb port Windows is re-installing the same
drivers, in a few months time if someone is unplugging and plugging in
devices in different usb ports nothing seems to work anymore, devices are no
longer recognized. is there a way to clean out these previous installations?

thanks

Ron

NO! Each USB port is consider a completely new driver thread. It depends
on how well the driver was written.

NO! is clear to me!!!!
but if a device afther more then one installation, fails (even whet it
worked fine before) schould i follow the Windows rule, trow it away and
replace it with a working device? !!!!! then i say NO!
we tested it with a pcmcia wireless networkcard
it installs 2 times slot a and b
Windows aut recognize the card when in the right slot so it must keeps track
of these installations in the 'registry'
i only want to know why good working usb devices are no longer recognized
afther more than one usb port install
