This has been driving me crazy and I see other folks in groups talking
about the same problem, but none of the solutions seem to work. I'm
running the latest version of Messenger on XP and can't get any of the
alert sounds to work. I know it's not the driver...I had to do a clean
re-install and that didn't even work. They're assigned sounds in
Control Panel/Sounds...and strangely the new mail alert *does* work.
What's going on? Any thoughts on this. Help would be much appreciated.
