There are some known issues with XP Pro and network
latency problems. Microsoft says they have a fix for some
of them caused by a OpLockBreakWait issue. They suggest
replacing two files:

Mrxsmb.sys v5.1.2600.1164
Rdbss.sys v5.1.2600.1164

However, these files have not been released yet and if you
want this particular issue fixed (plus a number of others
related to this problem) you either have to pay MS
customer support for it or wait for the next service pack.
