I just reinstalled XP on my machine. The OS assigned the
letter J to my hard drive. I tried changing it back to C
using the disk management utility, but was not allowed to
do it because of it being the system disk. Is there
another way to do this?

Windows gave the C to my 2nd HD. I use it for backups.

change the current C to another one and then you should be able to change J to C
with Disk Management

That won't work because you can't change the active system partition's drive
letter. However, if you have Partition Magic, you can easily do this.

I tried to run Partition Magic. I got an error that there
was a disk manager installed but not running. I went to
powerquest website and followed the instructions for that
particular error code(91). Still get same error code when
I try to run PM.
