How can I speed up the shut down of my computer? After
installing some updates from the windows website, and
other various programs... I really can't remember exactly
what at this point... when I shut down windows (XP PRO)
the splash screen hangs for what seems like an eternity,
before I can close the lid, and pack up my laptop.

This just started happening... is there something I can
adjust in the registry, or system to speed this up?
