View Full Version : How do I find what error a print job has run into?

Greetings!

I have a Datamax I-4308 label printer on a server running the Windows
2000 Server operating system. The user typically sends jobs of several
hundred pages (1 page per label) to the printer. Most of the time it
works well. Occasionally, though, printing will stop for no known
reason. Checking the print queue on the server, I see the job status
as "Error - Printing". I have not found how to get details about the
error. Is there some way through the standard printer job screen? Do
I need some third-party tool? Do I need to write my own tool to query
the queue?

Thanks very much!

Nothing. I can't believe that I can look at the printer queue and see
a job with an error, but I can't find out what the error is! There has
got to be a way.
