Is there an easier way to highlight a text, to be copied
for example, than left click hold while hundreds of pages
scroll by?

Does Windows XP allow me to put a code in front of the
text I want to copy and after the last word to highlight
the area to be copied or moved? This seems a lot simpler
way to highlight than the "scrolling method".

I'd sure appreciate some advice since my material runs
into hundreds of pages.

Thanks.

Tom,

I don't think this a generic fuction of the operating system. If using
Word, there are ways to do this much quicker. Check Word's "help" for
short-cut keys for selecting text. If some other application, check that
application's help screen.

In most text programs, you can insert the cursor in front of the place you
want the highlight to start, grab the scrollbar and drag it down to the
bottom of the page, hold down the Shift key and click at the end of the text
you want highlighted. You can then right click and select Copy.
