I have recently installed Microsoft's faxing program....
I am having a problem in the Fax Configuration Wizard.
I have entered all of my preferences, it is recognizing my card and all, but
when I get to the end of the wizard, and click finish; it gives me an error.
"Configuration settings cannot be saved due to an internal error"
Do you guys have any idea what the problem may be?
Thanks for any input.

Clarify to what "preferences" you are referring.

I don't really know if this actually has any effect on faxing itself, but
I'd like to try to get it fixed so I don't have to manually enter everything
everytime.
I start out by clicking the 'Start' button. Go to 'Accessories',
'Communications', 'Fax', then 'Fax Console'.
Everytime I do this, it brings me to the Fax Configuration Wizard.
Starting with the 'Select Device for Sending or Receiving Faxes, I select my
modem which it has already detected. I click Enable Send, Enable Receive, and
Automatically answer after 3 rings.
I put a name for TSID, and a name for CSID. I leave 'When a fax is received'
blank.
When I get to the end of the Wizard, it is showing me all of my preferences.
It states: "You have successfully completed the Fax Configuration Wizard.'
I click next to close the Wizard and Finish, and it gives me the
aforementioned error. "Configuration settings cannot be saved due to an
Internal Error.
After I close the error box, it brings the fax console up. As I've stated
before, I don't know if this actually has any effect on the fax itself, but
if it does, I definately need to find a way to fix it.
Thank you for taking the time for answering, Russ, I really appreciate you
guys.
With highest regards...

Never seen this one.
Did you receive any errors when you installed fax?
Are there any errors in Event viewer?
Are you using an analog fax modem that is on the Windows XP HCL list?
