lost use of printer, cd burner and dvd

My computer does recognize that the software for these
pereph's have been loaded but saya that it cannot find
them. I have shut down system and statrted it back up. I
have also performed restore to a prior date and checked
connections. The rest of the sysytem works fine but it
will not recognize any preph's.
Got any answers?
