Microphone does not work

I already bought 2 sets of headphones to be able to chat with audio, but in
both cases the microphone does not work. Audio is OK.
I tested the headphone on another computer and the microphone works there.

All settings indicate that this should work ...

Can anybody help me ?

In your soundcard mixer switch the record channel to the microphone.

Greetings Justine,

Have you gone through the Audio/Video Tuning Wizard recently? If not, open up the main
Messenger window, click the Tools menu and choose Audio Tuning Wizard, Audio/Video Tuning
Wizard or Audio and Video setup (depending on version of Messenger you're using).
