Hi! Don't know if my problem is a common one,
but I run XP Pro & use Windows Media Player 10
for most of my media, all has been well until quite
recently when, whenever I click on a Video Link
the player loads but I get an Active Movie Screen
taking over the video, the media player screen remains blank,
if I close this screen the sound remains.WHAT'S HAPPENING????

What changed on the system? Did you update the video card driver or
anything of that sort?

(speaking for myself and doing this in my free time)

Hi Zachd!
Thanks for the post,in answer to your question I have not updated my Graphics driver for a good while (maybe 5-6 months) so I don't think that's
the problem,I've been racking my brains to think what updates may be responsible, but have drawn a blank, any other suggestions as to the cause
and/or remedies would be more than welcome.Regards Blahshog.

Update to my last!

Opened WMP 10 Tools/Options/Performance/Advanced
& noticed that the Use High Quality Mode had been enabled,
disabled this & all is back to normal.Have tried enabling overlays
in the Video Acceleration Section & this also enables the Active
Movie Screen, hope this may be of use to anyone who may be
experiencing the same probs that I was.Blahshog
