System Tray Icons Disappearing

The volume controls and my printer icon in the system
tray keep disappearing for some reason. In the sound
properties window, the "place volume icon in taskbar" box
is checked, and in the taskbar properties, I have the
volume controls and printer tools set to "always show".
I have a Sony Vaio RZ30C customizable with a SoundBlaster
Audigy card. how can I fix this problem? (Both printer
and sound still work, but aren't in system tray)
