do you have access to another computer?

plug speakers in other computer.
do they work?

are you disabling onboard sound when using sound card and vice verse?
Speakers are powered up?
Speakers in correct connection on sound card or motherbrd?

Sound card appears in device manager okay?

Remove sound card physically and try to establish onboard sound only.
If that works, disable onboard and reinstall sound card and install software.

also, may need to unisartall softwafrefrom Ad/Remove programs.

Remove sound card, physically.
uninstall/remove sound card software from Add/Remove programs.
remove/uninstall sound card in device manager.

Boot up and then shutdown with card removed.
hopefully resetting to base condition.

reinstall sound card. install sound card software.

hopefully this works.

Have you checked with the soundcard manufacturers website?

Maybe they have a full uninstall utility?

If not, why not? (Methinks they should)

Open up the Sound Control and make sure all setting are unchecked and volume
is turned up. Sounds academic, but I have seen users jump through hoops and
it was something as simple as this.
