I have just fitted a video capture card (PYRO Basic DV card) which windows
says is working ok.
I have connected my video camera (JVC GR-DVL308) to the card with the lead
supplied with the card but nothing happens and I can't find the camera
anywhere.

Can anyone help please.

Richard

Is the camcorder turned on, connected to A/C power and in VCR mode?

Yes I'm afraid it is.
Would it be I need a special JVC lead from the camcorder to the card.
Do I need any software drivers for the camcorder.

It should be a standard firewire cable.... probably 4 pin (at the camcorder
end) to 6 pin (at the PC end)

After camcorder is connected to PC, then XP should automatically recognize
it and install the driver which is included in XP.

Thanks for your help Cari I've had a quick look at Graham's Site and it
looks quite good.
I hope I will find my answer there.

Cheers

Richard
