XP - Does not return from screen saver mode

I used to be able to walk away from my laptop (Dell
Latitude C610) when it had WinNT installed, and when I
returned just touching the mouse would bring it back.
Now, with XP, when it goes to screen saver mode, it never
comes back. I have to power it down and reboot.
Also, if I close the lid to put it into sleepmode, the
same thing happens.
Is there a setting I have to change?

You might want to update your BIOS from Dell's site...

I ran accross several complaints of other C610 users, when I did a search on
your problem.... the A12 BIOS version had a problem with waking up from
'sleep'. But that was back in November of last year... and there was a new
BIOS available then.... sooooo....

You might want to do an update.
