I can sit here and watch my computer start typing stuff
by itself. It is usually in an input field, or when I am
editing some code in a file. It most commonly is
inserting the word "To" every few lines or so. I have
run current virus scans by Norton, checked bunches of
virus notes and can't find out what is going on. Is it a
virus? or is it typing stuff that was stored in a type-
ahead buffer that needs to be cleared out? Which brings
me to the related problem of my computer hanging quite
often and forcing me into type-ahead mode. Any thoughts
are appreciated.

Disconnect microphone.
Does it stop?
If yes, turn off Speech Recognition:
