WHICH FORMAT IS CLEARER or BETTER??

Can someone help me please??? I LOVE using Windows Movie Maker because I
find it the easiest but the problem is the movies that I save are of poor
quality. They are not as clear as I would like especially when played on a
"stand-alone" DVD player. Can someone please advise as to which format would
be the clearest and the best to use to convert my files to?? I have WMV,
AVI, DVD, MPG but I see not difference. Which is the clearest and which can
I actually use in MovieMaker? Much appreciated.

You might try downloading windows media encoder 9 series,in the encoder,
select,capture video/audio,then select,convert,locate youre movie,then the
encoder will filter the movie for you.

DV-AVI format will be the highest quality you can save it in, but as always
it cannot increase resolution.....if you take low resolution video, then you
will always get a low resolution output after editing... the old garbage in
garbage out addage applies.

If the source is from a digital camcorder, import (capture) as DV-AVI. If
it's an analog source, it's never going to look as good as a commercially
produced DVD or HDTV... it's not possible.

It's difficult to make suggestions, as we don't know which settings you
use for saving your files or how much you know about the process of
encoding using the various formats, etc.

One thought that comes to mind, though, is this: it is possible
(probable?) that your camcorder is producing interlaced video. I don't
use Moviemaker, but I'd imagine there is an option to Deinterlace.
Perhaps it's worth a try.
