I have this recurring scenario with DirectX 9.0c
I reformat a computer and install all updates and drivers (in XP Pro) and
use the dxdiag.exe tool and it shows me that all the Display options are
enabled ie.
DirectDraw Acceleration: Enabled
Direct 3D Acceleration: Enabled
AGP Texture Acceleration: Enabled
but after a while (a few days or so) they are all disabled and the option to
enable them is greyed out.
under the same tool the DirectX Files shows no errors.
How do I repair this problem?
Thanks

Ensure someone hasn't changed the hardware acceleration settings by right
clicking the desktop, selecting properties and then choosing the Settings
tab and then Advanced. Unless you have problems, it should be on FULL.

nope. it's not that.
I have remote access software, NetSupport Manager and Logmein Pro which i
normally use. could these be the problem?

If those applications use a mirror driver (see what is installed under
Displays in the device manager) then this can lead to Windows deciding
it doesn't like the primary display anymore.
